Drive down the beautiful coastal highway in Los Cabos. Out one window is white sand desert. Beyond the other window is the intense blue of the Pacific. Now let your eye wander. Notice the high-end residences and the beautiful villas. Hundreds of them. Notice how most of them are available for rent.

You can be forgiven for falling in love with one of these stunningly designed homes. We are all susceptible, after all. But we call these properties amateur villas. They belong to private owners who aren’t in the business of hospitality; that’s not why these homes were built. The amateur villas come with a property manager whose job is to take care of the house and list it for short-term rentals. Most aren’t staffed or manage to get by with housekeepers. Sometimes the property manager will offer services on demand. All this may add up to a perfectly fine holiday or vacation experience.

At Alanza we have no interest in ‘perfectly fine’. We wanted something entirely different. Something truly, spectacularly, miraculously, different. We wanted art. We wanted magic.

Evolution: family home to luxury retreat.

Art is the perfect blend of design and service. For this extraordinary Maison, we had to plan well ahead, and carefully, to design a most unusual, incomparable retreat. A spectacular home where guests would feel cozy and at home, while being pampered to the ends of the earth. Because this home would offer only the best personalized service on the planet. We have always known there’s an unmet demand from the world’s most discerning and experienced guests. Maison de Rêve is being built to meet that demand.

Blueprint for a dream.

Essential to creating an awe-inspiring design was our advisory team. These are leading hospitality industry professionals from around the world. They have special expertise in wellness, food and beverage, event planning and luxury hospitality. With their insights and guidance, the Maison is still a residence, but a residence with unheard of amenities and extraordinary service built in. Our guest’s comfort and well-being are always our only priority.

Catering to every need.

We wanted a concept that was both sublime and flexible. So we have allocated several distinct, dedicated areas. A social wing, a private wing, back of the house, covered exteriors, and exterior spaces. Our first lot is over 40,000 sq ft. The built surface will be 14,000 sq ft. Every square foot fills a purpose. We are working to bring your dreams alive.

The Maison will comfortably accommodate up to 16 people in eight double rooms. Two of which will be convertible to provide other amenities like office space or a child´s playroom if your group is smaller. Each room is designed above luxury hotel standards. Each has walk in closets and bathrooms with double vanity. Some will also have in and out shower sets. All will have a second door with access to a locker. The locker is where the staff can leave you anything you require, with access only from the inside to guarantee your privacy. This type of configuration is found only in the most luxurious hotels in the world. This is just one of the reasons why we call it Maison du Rêve, or House of dreams.

The best service requires the best design.

The retreat has been designed with our staff in mind. That means everything is calculated to support their movements so they can serve our guests easily and quickly. Our goal is to keep noise to an absolute minimum, and make service smooth and seamless.

Unheard of amenities.

The social areas include different dining environments to create distinct atmospheres. No lunch or dinner need be alike. There are indoor and outdoor living spaces to spend time together with your friends or loved ones. And there’s plenty of space to step away and enjoy some solitude. There are sunbathing spots for sun lovers and covered terraces as well. The Maison has a dedicated theater-cum-auditorium seating for the movie goers in the family. That very same space can also function beautifully as an auditorium for corporate events. Adjacent to the theater is a space that can be configured and work two ways: A playroom for the young ones, or, as a coffee break space for business people.

Wellness.

The Maison includes an up-to-date spa with ultra-comfortable massage cabins, four-person sauna, jacuzzi and cold-water showers for a full wellness circuit. When you finish your treatment, a beauty parlor is available to relax in, while you have a manicure and pedicure. For special occasions, our beauty experts are there to help you look your best. A fully equipped gym is available 24/7 with wood flooring and mirrors for workout sessions with your personal trainer. A dedicated Yoga space with your personal Yogi will be available both indoors and outdoors.

The Joy of Cooking.

With food lovers in mind, we have conceived four kitchens. One is for show cooking—where the chef can mix with guests. Watch the mole sauce get made and get to know one another. The second is a flexible kitchen that can be open or closed to avoid disturbing guests. The third kitchen is the outside kitchen with a grill for barbecues, grilling, and special occasions. The fourth is for the night shift appetizer prepared by our staff. It also supports any meal requirements for the staff.

Convenience, Flexibility, Luxury.

In addition to a full bath per room, there is an additional full bath for the wellness area. The Maison will have an outside shower next to the pool. It will have more half baths for the social, wellness and pool areas. For our staff, we have dedicated bathrooms available. The outside playgrounds are designed to bring together family and friends.

Firepits and Fountains.

On chilly nights, come gather around the fire pit. Sip a digestif while you star gaze and talk about the coming day. When morning comes, head to the pickleball court. Or the practice green. As the day moves along, treat yourself to a long mid-afternoon siesta in a hammock. Let the soft sea breezes and the fountains be your own private lullaby.

The Maison has a garden and an orchard. And because we love the farm to table concept, this is where your chef comes to pick his favorite herbs.

There is an infinite pool with a wet bar. It’s a great spot for conversation. Included is a covered pavilion for guests who want less exposure to the sun, but don’t want to miss the joy of pool time. For sun seekers and night owls, there’s an open jacuzzi next to the pool.

The Maison at work.

The back of the house, as we call the service area in hotels, includes all necessary storage, cleaning, maintenance, service access, laundry, machine rooms, ice and cold storage, furniture, and catering storage. There is even an elevator for convenience and logistics.

Just like at a small hotel, our staff will have bedrooms, rest areas, bathrooms, kitchen, lockers and a changing room. The better we take care of our staff, the better prepared they will be. And the more they will enjoy their work. We will always treat our staff as we treat our guests.

The architect is working hand in hand with the interior and landscape designers. Their mission is to make sure that the Maison, in its entirety, not only serves our guests but inspires them. Every space must have its own character, its own soul.

The Maison features the Internet of things, along with high (guaranteed) internet speed, best-in-class appliances, distributed sound and video system, and security cameras. The best technology to better serve you. There is full A/C with high efficiency natural heating-cooling architecture, solar panels, ecological recycling of water and composting. Many eco-friendly solutions are part of the master plan.
